People look at me a little strangely when I refer to a bottle of oil as my boyfriend. But...what can I say - I love my Franky.
When you don't know what oil to reach for but know you need an oil - a safe bet is always Frankincense. From skin soothing to supporting healthy inflammation levels to assisting with pain in the body to grounding and centering the mind - franks got ya! Frankincense has you covered, literally, head to toe!
Frankincense is often known as the “king of oils”, both for its wide range of uses and its association as a gift for the baby Jesus. This oil which would have been in the form of resin was gifted to Mary and Joseph by the Wisemen. Frankincense was believed to be the oil to assist and guard against infant mortality rates at those times. Although we don't really know for sure, it is speculated that the oil was used to anoint the crown of the head of the Christ child shortly after birth. Many parents use the same oil made from the same resin to do the same protective practice today.
Historically Frankincense has been used in religious ceremonies. The Egyptians used it in perfume and skin healing salves. Besides being excellent at soothing the nervous system, Frankincense is a wonderful skin healer. It helps to protect the skin and reduce inflammation and is a great anti-aging helper. I add it to my facial oil and use it daily!
Frankincense essential oil is steam distilled from the resin or gum. #frankincensetears The tree is from the Burseraceae family. These trees/shrubs grow in the middle east, mostly Somalia, and Frankincense can be difficult and costly to make. But there is a reason for it. Responsibly sourcing the oil and the distillation process is THE moment. If done well, it makes high-quality yields. If not, the quality suffers. The aromatic and therapeutic value of a mistreated oil product will be affected. It can result in no experience or a bad experience with essential oil.
A bottle of therapeutic grade Frankincense essential oil may be pricey, but it is worth every bit.
Remember that you get what you pay for. You will know that you got junk if your bottle of frankincense and your lunch were the same price! #ifyouknowyouknow
You can find Frankincense in several of Pasithea's Garden products including the Nourishing Skin Oil and the Achy Muscle and Joint Rub, just to name a few! #pasitheasgarden
