Pull up a little seat for a short story-time.
It won't take long but it It was the time I went peppermint blind. It was hilarious and incredibly intense. All I can say is...peppermint is a lot of things but I don't recommend getting it in your eye. If you use essential oils for an extended period of time - this WILL happen to you. However I can't recommend it, definitely not while driving. I pulled over right away and luckily my husband was in the passenger seat and able to kind of take over.
Simply put, I freaked out - I tried to explain to him what had just happened and it came out as, "My eye! It's so squinty, and minty!" We've laughed forever about this, and often refer to it as the time I got the 'Ole Minty Eye.
Quick solution for Minty Eye: Take a dab of fractionated coconut oil or another eye-friendly carrier oil and dab it to the corner of your eye with the non-offending hand! Never flush with water - water drives an oil because, you guessed it, water and oil don't mix. You know what mixes - Oil and Oil. It will dilute and calm the burn.

True (AKA good quality) peppermint oil will take your breath away, in all of the best ways. #liveandlearn This oil is one of the go-to's for respiratory and digestive support, mid-afternoon pick-me-ups, or even a study aid. Having some digestive issues? Need a little bit of support? Put a drop of oil in a glass of water to drink or in a capsule. Inhale the aroma of peppermint to help with feelings of nausea. For bloating or gas, you can rub a couple drops of peppermint essential oil on your abdomen. Starting above your belly button, massage gently in a clockwise motion (with 12 o'clock being at the spot above your belly button).
Peppermint essential oil can really perk up your mood! It contains menthol, which can bring circulation to your head and stimulate clarity and motivation. Peppermint is the perfect oil for study-prepping for a test or a situation where your mind needs to be sharp and clear.
Put one or two drops in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, and then breathe deeply of the refreshing aroma. Drop 3-6 drops in your diffuser and you will be good to go. This is especially helpful to do in the morning if you're still feeling sleepy, or whenever you need a pick up. Try a drop to the roof of your mouth while studying and again right before that big test.
